What's on my mind?
We have become obsessed with starting over.
You want a new job, new industry, new skill, new opportunity.
That's very good, because sometimes, that's exactly what you need.
But you know what the truth really is, you're not leaving because the opportunity is bad. You're leaving because you haven't stayed long enough to see what staying can do for you.
The first few months might not look like much, but you will learn, make mistakes and figure things out.
- Something you learned last year might make you better at what you're doing today.
- The mistake you made the last time will help you avoid one now.
- The connection you made months ago suddenlys become useful tomorrow.
That's how experience compounds.
You don't get that by constantly uprooting yourself and starting from zero. Of course, leave when you need to. A toxic environment isn't a test of loyalty. But don't mistake discomfort for a dead end.
Sometimes, the opportunity isn't failing you. You just haven't stayed long enough for it to grow you.
Remember:
Growth is not always about moving to better soil. Sometimes, it's about growing deeper roots where you are.
