What's on my mind?

This got me thinking about something we don't talk about enough: How perfectionism can disguise itself as progress.
One person was busy making sure everything was perfectly aligned. The other just got on with the job.
And it got me thinking about how many opportunities we've missed, not because we weren't capable, but because we were waiting to feel ready.
- We want the perfect CV before applying for that job.
- The perfect business plan before starting that business.
- The perfect skills before putting ourselves out there.
But here's the uncomfortable truth:
Sometimes, the pursuit of perfection is just procrastination dressed up as preparation.
The problem is that it feels productive. You're planning, researching, refining and preparing. But at some point, all that preparation has to translate into action.
Because you can spend months preparing for something and still learn more in a week of actually doing it.
And that's the difference.
Preparation may build confidence. Action builds competence.
Of course, preparation matters. Excellence matters. But there's a fine line between being deliberate and being paralysed by the fear of getting it wrong.
The person who starts, learns and adapts will often outperform the person who keeps waiting for the perfect conditions.
Start before you're completely ready. Learn as you go. Improve as you grow. Your first attempt doesn't have to be your best. It just has to exist.
And sometimes, the biggest difference between where you are and where you want to be isn't talent, connections or even opportunity.
It's simply the willingness to begin.
What's that one thing you've been putting off because you're waiting for the perfect moment?
Develop a bias for action.
